QotD: Breakfast of Champions

If you had to pick one breakfast food to eat every morning for the rest of your life, what would you choose?

Bacon.  I might pair it with different things (cereal/pancakes/waffles/fruit) but I would always, always want bacon.

QotD: Gobble Gobble

From the turkey and stuffing to all of the fixin's… Who's cooking your Thanksgiving dinner this year? What dish are you most looking forward to?

My mom, aunt and uncle are coming into town and we're going to eat at a restaurant at the Inner Harbor.  (Very excited; I hear the food's great.)

Thanksgiving isn't one of my favorite meals (turkey and mashed potatoes are okay, but I hate stuffing), but I do love pumpkin pie. :)  So that's what I'm looking forward to the most–pumpkin pie.  (And also sleep.)

QotD: Parental Decision

If you could be the parent of one famous person, who would you want it to be and why?

Parent?  Well, I'm 29, so even being the parent of a young celeb, it'd be pretty gross.

Like Abigail Breslin?  I'd have had to have her when I was 16.  Or the little Fanning sister, Elle?  Eighteen.

So if I could be the *child* of famous people, I would like to bend time and be Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins' kid.  (I say bend time 'cause they didn't meet until I was eight.)  Or I would be okay with being Susan Sarandon's daughter and Tim Robbins' stepdaughter.

Why?  Well, first, I like their politics (although he's apparently in the Green party, and I like to have at least a decent shot of winning elections) but more importantly, I like the fact that they do quality movies.  (Although she hasn't done anything fantastic in a while, although I am overly fond of Enchanted.)  Although then I would have siblings, and honestly, I am totally okay with being an only child. :)

(Also, I like the family I have.)

QotD: Happy Easter!

Are you doing anything special to celebrate Easter?

Not particularly*.  I go back to work tomorrow, so today I'm just trying to watch Castle (the last show in my DVR from vacation), finish The Forgotten Garden (am now behind in book reading and that book is just beyond awesome) and finish watching Marley and Me (half an hour to go).

I may or may not see my friend Josh, get Chipotle (is it even open today?) and watch Milk.  But I may push it back til Thursday or Friday, because I know Chipotle will be open then.

* = although I will admit that every time I remember Lindsey calling it Jesus Zombie Day, I crack up.  I want to be like Lindsey when I grow up.

QotD: Slumber Party

If you had to invite five friends or celebrities (or a combination of both) to a slumber party at your house tonight, who would you include and what movies would you rent?

Okay, best question ever!

And I have multiple answers, because I am me.

Okay, friends-wise, I would invite my best friend Jen, plus Bekki, Lindsey, Katie, Janie, Nicole, Marlen, Jenny, Amanda, Hannah, Cori, Texas Jen (I have many Jens in my life), LostDwarf, Steve, Handtalker, Carmen, KellySouth, Tom, John, Gunderson, Peachy, Jamie and their respective significant others, if any.

Yes, it's more than five, but how can you narrow down that list?

And I just so happen to have a few different movie marathon options.  Ready?

I have "The Chick Flick Option" (Steel Magnolias, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Fried Green Tomatoes and The Devil Wears Prada).  I have "Horror Movies Jen and I DIDN'T Just Watch" (The Descent, Disturbia, The Mist, Shutter).  I have "Movies I Got For/Around My Birthday And Am Desperate To Watch/Watch Again" (Yentl, Marley and Me, Milk, Twilight–this is sort of the bipolar movie marathon).  And since there are guys invited, I GUESS I could throw in the "Sports Movies That Don't Suck" marathon (Rocky, Bull Durham, Field of Dreams and Rocky II).

I also got the first season of Battlestar Galactica, so we could also just watch that. :)  (Oooh, and the second season of 30 Rock!)

Celebrity-wise, I would like to invite Gillian Anderson, Jodie Foster, Stephen King, Lauren Bacall and Tim Curry.

I would make them do a live commentary for my favorite movies of theirs.  (In order, Playing By Heart, Silence of the Lambs, Shawshank Redemption, To Have and Have Not and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.  (Tim Curry may be forced to drink until he forgets how much he hates it and, by that point, he may even sing some songs from it.  Huzzah!)

QotD: Relationship Deal Breaker

What's your "deal breaker" when it comes to relationships?

I couldn't date a Republican.  It's not so much that I'd disagree with their politics, so we couldn't get along–I have several friends who are Republicans, and it doesn't affect our friendship at all.

It's more that if you're gay and a Republican, there has to be an element of self-loathing there–why would you belong to a party that hates you and would rather implode into a million pieces than allow you to get married, ever?

Odds are, you're either super-religious and want the country to follow your beliefs or you have a ton of money and you want to keep all of it and not share it with anyone.

And I don't want to date either of those people.

(I also don't think I could date someone who isn't actively literate.  She doesn't need to read like I do, but I don't want her to consider the TV Guide her reading for the day, either.)
