Book Slump

I feel like this summer, I’ve careened back and forth between reading a ton and not reading anything. (I’m currently in the latter.)

This isn’t the worst thing in the world, because I’ve been watching a bunch of TV. (Everything I mentioned yesterday, plus the new season of Younger and I’m on the second season of Scream, which is fun.)

BUT the worst part is that it makes my commute to and from work pretty lame. I am happiest when I don’t have to talk to people (or run up against my data limits, which makes scrolling through social media not ideal) and books are both the best distraction and a good armor against conversations from people I don’t know.

There are some great books coming for me, but that doesn’t help me right now.

Recommendations (for TV, movies or books) welcome!

  1. I’ve actually had some good luck with movies. Warning–I like romance and if it’s British, even better. :) Have you watched About Time? Or how about Park Bench. (Maybe it was The Park Bench.) These are Netflix or maybe Prime…. I’m guessing you’ve seen Always Be My Maybe, but I liked that too. For books, I don’t know if you read adult, but I loved Elinor Olyphant is Completely Fine. Right now I just started listening to Educated, the memoir. I’m like you–love having a book to listen to. Keeps me from listening to the news! xoxo

    1. I haven’t seen any of those movies! I especially want to see Always Be My Maybe. :) I’ve read both books and loved both. I can’t believe Educated is true. Like, how did she even survive to adulthood?
