So last night, I went to go see My Favorite Murder here in Baltimore. It was the best night of my life.
I went by myself, because my two best local friends are not only NOT Murderinos, they would probably take Karen up on it when she says that if you’re not into true crime and dark humor, “you should get the fuck out right now.” I have great friends and they would go if I asked them to, but I knew I would have more fun without worrying that they were hating it. (Because, you guys? THEY WOULD HATE IT.)
So. I was guessing that one of them would do Joe Metheny (and if you don’t know about it, don’t Google him; he is deeply disturbing) and I was wrong. Karen did the Baltimore plot to assassinate Abraham Lincoln* and Georgia did the murder of Carolyn Wasilewski, which kind of inspired the movie Crybaby.
So even that would have been great enough. But then they said they had a surprise. They each read parts of their upcoming book (out in May and yes, of course I have already preordered it) and I am very, very excited to read it.
If you have a chance to see them live, absolutely do it. It was so fun and funny and I am so glad I went. I can’t wait to hear about Saturday’s show in DC.
