The Upside of Unrequited

Finished The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli. I received a copy for review.

Cassie and Molly are fraternal twins. If you ask Molly, she’ll tell you that Cassie got the looks (blonde hair, green eyes, thin; Molly has brown hair, brown eyes and self-describes as fat). Cassie’s also way more experienced–she’s never had a girlfriend but she’s definitely been able to make out with basically anyone she wants. Molly has had multiple crushes but has never been kissed. And then Cassie meets Mina and they start dating. AND THEN decrees that Molly is finally going to do something about one of her crushes.

I loved Becky Albertalli’s first book, and so even though this sounded super cute, I was skeptical. Simon is magic. Could this be magic, too?

Joke’s on me; this blew away my love for Simon. This book reduced me to smiles and exclamation points and heart emojis. I love Molly (and her family and her friends and her boy, but especially Molly). Everything about this book is a complete delight.

I can’t even say anything beyond YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW YOU HAVE TO YOU HAVE TO YOU HAVE TO.

Highly recommended.
