Finished Cherry by Lindsey Rosin. I received a copy for review.
OK. The first thing you should know is that this is basically American Pie for girls. And there is a lot of sex in here. So if you are squeamish at all about girls having sex or talking about having sex or wanting to have sex or masturbating, this is not the book for you.
And while I generally don’t spend time thinking/caring about other people having sex (especially fictional people!), I just want to say how awesome it is that there are these four teenage girls who want to have sex and so they do. And it’s not a thing. They’re responsible and use birth control, so no one gets pregnant or an STD. They acknowledge that losing your virginity is a big deal but no one “grieves it,” (like I read in one Christian book that, years later, still annoys me) and it’s not like that Taylor Swift song either. Your virginity is not “everything.” It is not the most valuable thing about you and people who act like it is probably shouldn’t be trusted.
So yes, I very much enjoyed this book. And I hope to see more of Alex and Zoe and Emma and Layla. I think college will be very kind to them.
