Room

Room is one of the AFI’s ten best movies of 2015.  It’s based on the book by Emma Donoghue.

I’ve read the book a couple of times now and absolutely loved it, so I was a litlte nervous about the movie.  But it was just as amazing, due in no small part to the acting.  (Alison Brie and Jacob Tremblay carry the movie as Ma and Jack, but everyone involved was completely stellar.)

Alison Brie has already won a Golden Globe and both are nominated for Screen Actor’s Guild awards.  Oscar nominations aren’t out yet, but I can’t imagine that they won’t get nominated there.

This movie is brutal but also amazing.

Highly recommended.
