Gone With The Wind is a Best Picture winner and is on several AFI lists (100 Years, 100 Films, 100 Years, 100 Passions and one of the 10 best epics).
I’ve seen it before (I think I saw it for the first time when I was 12 or 13) but recently rewatched it because it turns out somehow my mom hasn’t seen it.
In case you also haven’t seen it, it’s based on a novel and is the story of a Southern belle who’s in love with her neighbor. Except he’s engaged. And the Civil War is about to start.
There’s so much more to it, but it’s one of the best movies ever made (according to me, and also according to the AFI) and it’s got some impossibly gorgeous people as the leads (I’m speaking about Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable. I will agree that Olivia de Havilland is pretty but I don’t get the appeal of Leslie Howard. At all. And why Scarlett would be in love with Ashley when RHETT BUTLER is around is the most confusing thing of all).
