Finished The Last Little Blue Envelope by Maureen Johnson. I received this through Netgalley, courtesy of the publisher. This is the sequel to 13 Little Blue Envelopes, and there are spoilers for that book in this review. (Especially in the next paragraph.)
Ginny’s back from her European adventure and trying to work on college applications when she gets an email that her stolen backpack has been found and the person emailing her has the envelopes, including the one that she didn’t get to open. To get them back, she has to return to England and have one last adventure.
(Spoiler section over)
I cannot adequately express how much I enjoyed these two books. I know that it’s unlikely that Ginny will get another book, but I really wish she could.
I love the idea behind these books, and I really wish that someone would send me on that kind of adventure, especially if they were willing to also pay for it. So I guess what I’m saying is that I over-identify with Ginny, except I have no such impetus to change my boring, hermit ways. ;) But that’s okay.
Thanks to a very recent birthday and some gift card bounty, I’ve bought all of Maureen Johnson’s backlist (and the book she co-wrote with John Green and Lauren Myracle), and I’m excited to get to work my way through this. So recommended, especially if you can read the two books back to back. :)
