Behind the Mask

Feel free to bookmark the schedule and keep checking back. :)

Version watched:  Theatrical version

Horror movie street cred:  There are cameos by Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger), Zelda Rubenstein (Poltergeist) and Kane Hodder (most famous Jason).   Also, Englund’s character in this is Doc Halloran, which is probably a nod to the cook in The Shining.  He also dresses like Dr. Loomis in Halloween.

Big names:  None

Synopsis:  A film crew is doing a documentary on the next great serial killer, Leslie Vernon.  Along the way, Leslie gives insider tips on what it takes to follow in the footsteps of Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees.

Scare factor:  I don’t think this is scary at all.  1/5, just because it has to have at least one star.  (It’s very fun, though!)

Scariest part:  (Spoilers)  Probably his mask.  This is not scary at all.

Why I picked it:  It’s fun and it’s very clever about scary movies.  (Since tomorrow’s movie is Scream, I also thought they’d go well together.)
