Review Policy (Updated May 13, 2013)

Thank you for wanting to send me your book/books.  Before you do, here are some things you should probably know.

I read a great deal but I am currently about a month and a half behind on review books (there was a death in my family earlier in the year), and I will do my best to get to your book/books as soon as I can, but cannot guarantee a specific review date (unless we work something out, obviously).  If it’s a book I particularly love, I will discuss it on Twitter and Facebook, as well as on my blog.  I am working as close to chronological order as I can and again, am about a month behind (as of this update, May 13, I am reading a book that came out April 1 to give you an idea of where I am on my review stack).  If a review that’s roughly a month late isn’t ideal for you, I completely understand.  Thank you for thinking of me and please check back later in the year.  I do plan to review everything! It’s just taking longer than expected.  But I am reading and reviewing, and if you have sent me a book or approved me for a book on Edelweiss or Netgalley, I will get to it.

What I read:  General and genre (chick lit and mysteries/thrillers/suspense) fiction, YA (dystopian, paranormal and contemporary), middle grade fiction, picture books (I have a niece now!), quirky memoirs/nonfiction (AJ Jacobs, for example), Christian fiction (historical and contemporary).  I am on Netgalley and Edelweiss and absolutely accept e-galleys.

What I do not read:  Romance novels, short story collections (for the most part), political books, erotica, science fiction, most types of nonfiction.

There are exceptions, so when in doubt, ask.  You can reach me at kellyhager1234@comcast.net.  I check email often and will get back to you as quickly as I can.

I don’t guarantee reviews for unsolicited books.

I do not sell ARCs, but reserve the right to do blog giveaways from time to time (they’re rare but they do happen).  If you would rather not have an unfinished copy given away, please let me know.  I also share ARCs with other bloggers.  If you would prefer I not do that, please let me know.

In addition to my blog, I post reviews on goodreads.com.

Sending me a free book does not guarantee a good review (or a review at all).  I don’t like giving negative reviews, but I prefer that rather than misleading my site’s visitors about books.  If I absolutely can’t get into a book, I reserve the right to not finish it (even if it’s a book I requested).

Reviews will have a link to Amazon.com (through the book’s title), as well as a link to the publisher’s website (if it’s a book I received from the publisher) and the author’s website.

I am on Goodreads.  Feel free to follow me on Twitter or friend me on Facebook.
