Welcome to the latest Things I’m Obsessed With!
TV:
I am so in love with Nashville. It’s the only new show I’ve stuck with so far (I am so behind on The Following!) although I do want to try Cult, which premieres Tuesday (?). But wow. So in love with Nashville! It’s gotten so good although (as I told my friend Julia) I think that with a less good cast, it would be awful. (Nashville has a tendency toward soapiness.) I love Rayna and Deacon (apart and together) about as much as I hate Avery. (And about as much as I loved Gunnar punching Avery last week.) Can’t wait for tonight’s episode. :)
Movies:
I think I’ve missed my chance to see Django Unchained in the theater. Forces conspired to keep us apart (including, but not limited to, a sudden change in work schedule, me being just sick enough one weekend to not want to go anywhere and book club) but I know I’ll see it when it comes out on DVD. And so far, all the Oscar BP nods seem to be coming out later this month or in March. (I really want everything I’ve seen except for Amour. It was one of the best movies I’ve ever seen—yes, EVER—but I don’t want to see it again.)
So what are you obsessed with this week?
Kelly,
I feel the same way about “Boys Don’t Cry”. After seeing it, my sister bought it for me for Christmas (on VHS!), but I can’t bring myself to watch it again.
As for Nashville: Avery, I can’t stand him! He should take Scarlett with him, but, leave Gunner! And, I’m glad the record producer is back tonight. :)
I hope you’re feeling better!

I like Scarlett! :)
Boys Don’t Cry…amazing but yeah, I barely watch it. I think it’s literally once every five years. (The director is the one who’s doing the Carrie remake!)
I think you’re right on that Nashville would be awful without the caliber of actors that it has — sometimes it pushes into the “too soapy” regime as it is, though I still find it a lot of fun.
It’s very fun. :)
