Welcome to the latest Things I’m Obsessed With?
TV:
I watched the pilot of The Following yesterday and it was SO GOOD. Incredibly creepy and fun and just good. I can’t wait to see where the show goes from here. Also, tonight is the season finale of American Horror Story, which I have absolutely loved this season. It’s very different from the first season (which I think I preferred a little bit) but still very good. What’s going to happen with Bloodyface? Will anyone survive? So many questions!
Also, this is the year where so many of my shows will go off the air (Private Practice’s last episode was last night, but I haven’t seen it yet; 30 Rock ends this month and Breaking Bad, The Big C and The Office also all end this year). So far, the only two replacements I have are The Following (LOVED! And in case you’re curious, I’m sure it’s on OnDemand and the pilot is supposed to reair Friday night) and Nashville.
Movies:
I’ve still only seen seven of the nine Best Picture nominees. Over my weekend, I want to see Beasts of the Southern Wild and at some point I want to see Django Unchained, but that may not happen until it’s out on video. I’ve heard mixed reviews and it may be better to see on DVD. But I did see The Possession and I really liked it. It was creepy and while the ending got a little silly (don’t show the dybbuk! Give people a quick glimpse and let their imaginations do the work!) but by and large, I really enjoyed it.
What are you obsessed with this week?
I am particularly looking forward to the new Keri Russel show The Amerikans. Looks good.
I want to see that, too.
We watched The Following premiere last night. Oof. Definitely going for a very “Red Dragon” feeling (the Ed Norton one…). It was certainly INTENSE. Yow.

You didn’t mention Game of Thrones or Mad Men or Downton Abbey! The hubby and I started watching Lost on Netflix (we didn’t catch the wave when it was actually on the air *gasp*). We’re FINALLY almost to the last season. It started so GREAT…. now it’s only just weird. ANyway… know what you mean about being obsessed with tv:-)
