Finished Beautiful Redemption by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.
Summary (from Goodreads):
“Is death the end . . . or only the beginning?
Ethan Wate always dreamed of leaving the stifling Southern town of Gatlin.
But he never dreamt that finding love with Lena Duchannes would drive him away. Lena is a Caster girl whose supernatural powers unveiled a secretive and cursed side of Gatlin, so powerful it forced him to make a terrible sacrifice.
Now Ethan must find a way to return to Lena – and Gatlin – as she vows to do whatever it takes to get him back. Even if it means trusting old enemies or risking their loved ones’ lives.
Can Ethan and Lena rewrite their fate and their spellbinding love story in this stunning finale to the Beautiful Creatures series?”
I have many favorite series in the YA realm, but if I were to be forced at gunpoint to pick an absolute favorite, it would have to be the Beautiful Creatures series. After Beautiful Chaos ended (and I thought the series was a trilogy, not a quadrilogy), I thought it was a sad but amazing end to Lena & Ethan’s story. And when I learned there would be a fourth, I was happy of course (I will always, ALWAYS want to spend more time with characters I love) but also a little concerned. The series ended on a perfect note (which, incidentally, is incredibly rare) and how in the world would Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl manage to top that? Oh, me of little faith.
This book is just as amazing as the other three in the series—just as dark, just as tortured and just as sweet. I’m incredibly sad that their story is over, but at the same time, I can’t wait to see what Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia write next.
Highly recommended.
