After watching Halloween III, I wanted to see some Michael Myers. And because I tend to watch the Jamie Lee Curtis Halloween movies (except for Halloween: Resurrection, which was awful), I decided to watch one of the Danielle Harris & Ellie Cornell ones.
This introduces Rachel (Ellie Cornell) and her foster sister Jamie (Danielle Harris). Jamie is supposed to be Laurie Strode’s daughter and thus Michael Myers’ new target. (I say “supposed to be” because according to H20, Laurie Strode only faked her death…but why leave her daughter behind? Better not to think too much about it.)
Anyway. Michael Myers has escaped again and he is Haddonfield-bound. This movie is mostly forgettable except for the fact that it has a pretty wicked ending. Jamie seems to have some sort of weird link/bond with her uncle and, after surviving his latest rampage, goes upstairs with her foster mom to take a bath. She’s still wearing her clown costume (which is just like the one Michael wore as a child when he stabbed his sister Judith) and she stabs the foster mom. (This is why part 5 opens with her in a psychiatric hospital.)
I’m going to be watching the original Halloween at my post-Halloween Halloween party, but I’m hoping to watch H20 before the end of A Nightmare on Kel’s Street.
