Welcome to the latest Things I’m Obsessed With!
TV:
American Horror Story started last week and it’s just as good this season as it was last year! I can’t wait to see tonight’s episode (which is the exorcism episode) and (so far, at least) it appears that my worries about the Ryan Murphy running the show into the ground thing are unfounded. (That seems to happen more in the third season anyway, right?)
I also started watching Nashville and I really like it. I’m caught up and am excited to watch tonight’s episode tomorrow morning. Probably after AHS so that it can get my heart rate back to normal. I do like Connie Britton (who, of course, was in the first season of AHS).
Movies:
As the year winds down, my attention is starting to turn from scary movies to Oscar movies. I saw Argo recently and really enjoyed it. I’m also excited to see The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Lincoln and The Silver Linings Playbook, because I’m pretty sure they’ll all be nominated. The AFI releases its 10 Best Movies (and TV!) list in late December and of course the Oscar nominees are announced in January. I’m excited to start seeing some great movies soon…but I’ll miss my scary movies, too.
So what are you obsessed with this week?
That is funny that you like Nashville! Just didn’t peg that as your type of show. I have been watching too mainly for Connie Britton and the nostalgia of seeing my old hometown. The accents are a little grating and I am hoping the story gets a little less soapy. I really like the two young songwriters (although the blond’s accent is appalling!) And I am interested to see if Rayna’s husband is elected mayor.

I think the soapy part makes it my kind of story (see my love of Grey’s Anatomy). So far, I have been able to resist getting the songs, but we’ll see. Do you think Hayden’s character is really based on Taylor Swift?
