I think this is my favorite of the series so far (although there are some problems). Inthink horror movies are always scarier when little kids are involved.
This (like the second) let us get to know and like the characters before the weird stuff happened although technically since it deals with Katie and Kristi’s childhoods, we already did know and like them.
But as I said, there are problems.
First, it ignored some elements of the earlier mythology. For example, Katie tells Micah there was a fire when they were little but this didn’t address that at all. Second, in PA2, Katie tells Kristi she’ll end up like Mom (presumably crazy) but that isn’t addressed, either.
Second, it relies more on cheap scares than the other ones did.
Even so, it’s very entertaining and, like the others, the last few minutes are intense and scary.
