I rewatched this with Jenny, who remembered it being a lot more terrifying than it is. This is based on a Stephen King short story and has eight sequels and a remake. (Naomi Watts is in one of the sequels.)
The general gist is that the kids in Gatlin all murdered their parents because another kid (the super creepy Isaac) told them to. They worship He Who Walks Behind the Rows, a sort of corn god.
Things go well for a few years but then two adults (Burt and Vicky, Peter Horton and Linda Hamilton) stumble into town and wreck everything.
This is not a good movie but it is pretty fun.
Scariness factor: 1/10 at best
