BBAW wasn’t even on my radar today but it’s apparently this week. I heard Gae talk about it on Facebook (along with a much-appreciated compliment to me, so thanks!) and I saw Michelle do this BBAW Interview Meme, which I promptly stole. Thanks, Michelle. :)
Do you snack while you read? If so, favorite reading snack?
I don’t. I think it’s how my books tend to stay so nice—no food stains.
Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you?
It horrifies me. I went through a brief phase (in college) where I would highlight things I found interesting, but I grew out of that.
How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ears?
I have a bookmark. It’s actually a The Pull of Gravity bookmark that Gae sent me.
Fiction, Non-fiction, or both?
Fiction, generally. I will read nonfiction, but it’s rare.
Hard copy or audiobooks?
Hard copy. (Either physical book or e-book, but I want to be able to hold what I’m reading.)
Are you a person who tends to read to the end of chapters, or are you able to put a book down at any point?
I read to the end of the chapter or at least a chapter break.
If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop to look it up right away?
This is going to sound bitchy probably but I generally know what words mean.
What are you currently reading?
Envy by Elizabeth Miles. I just finished Tilt by Ellen Hopkins
What is the last book you bought?
Tilt by Ellen Hopkins
Are you the type of person that only reads one book at a time or can you read more than one at a time?
I read one book at a time.
Do you have a favorite time of day and/or place to read?
I always love to read. Don’t care when or where. :) But ideally I’m on my couch with Sam snoring away next to me.
Do you prefer series books or stand alone books?
I like both, but if it’s a book I love, I will want more books in that world, with those people.
Is there a specific book or author that you find yourself recommending over and over?
Yes. I am currently recommending Gone Girl to everyone. But I’ve strongly encouraged friends to read Divergent, The Pull of Gravity, The Mockingbirds…anything I love, I want everyone to read.
How do you organize your books? (By genre, title, author’s last name, etc.?)
They’re organized by whether I’ve read them or not. It’s unfortunate.
Whether or not you’ve read them? I probably never would have thought of organizing my books that way. Mine, when I have actual bookshelves upon which to place my books, are arranged alphabetical by author’s last name, then by order of day/year of release.
I have too many. :) So I have three bookcases of unread books and five Of read ones. And many stacks.
oh. I know you have a LOT of books, but I didn’t really think you had that many. Instead of being the crazy cat lady, you are the crazy book lady and one day someone is going to check on you only to find you buried under a stack or two or ten of books. :)
I’m glad you are part of my on-line family. :)
That is incredibly accurate. :)
I’m glad you’re part of mine, too. :)
Nice! I like this meme. None of your answers surprise me a bit… ;)
I may have to try it…:)
Yay! Do it. :)
Found you via Steve. Great answers!
Thanks! :) It was a fun one to do.
