United 93 was one of the AFI’s 10 best films for 2006.
It’s about 9/11 in general but obviously specifically focuses on the plane that crashed into the field in Pennsylvania. While much of the movie takes place on that plane, there are also scenes on the ground as officials (air traffic controllers and military) try and figure out exactly what’s going on.
This is obviously not an easy movie to watch. I managed to make it through most of the movie without crying, but once the passengers started calling to say goodbye, I was done.
It’s such a good movie but yes, very, VERY hard to get through.
This was a spectacular movie and it was very movie. I’ve seen it several times. It’s hard not to shed tears.
I know, right? I read they cast real flight attendants and pilots and that at least some of the air traffic controllers were actually working that day.
I still haven’t been able to watch this. I want to, but I also just like for my movies to be escapist fun. And this is most definitely not that.
