Books:
I’m actually in a bit of a reading slump lately. While I generally read a book a day, I have read two books since Friday. It’s not the quality that’s been the problem (I read and loved Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend by Matthew Dicks and And When She Was Good by Laura Lippman); it’s that I just don’t want to read. And yes, that IS very unsettling for me, thank you for asking.
So what HAVE I been doing? (Besides getting very antsy?)
Movies:
I have been continuing the neverending Oscars/AFI/Hitchcock/Spirit Awards project and watching some other movies. Over the course of the past week, I’ve watched Hard Candy, Shattered Glass, An Affair to Remember, Bridesmaids and The Way We Were. (Okay, only An Affair to Remember and The Way We Were are for the AFI project.) I’d already seen all of those movies before but when I can’t read, I want the cinematic equivalent of comfort food. ;)
So what are you obsessed with this week?
I’ve been watching unending amounts of “Daria.” Also, I discovered “Spaced,” and I have no idea how I missed this show for so long. It’s hilarious how many things from “Spaced” ended up in “Shaun of the Dead” or “Hot Fuzz.” I had a few months where I couldn’t read books. I just couldn’t focus. Now I can, and it’s awesome. You’ll get your swing back, Kel.
