Welcome to the latest Things I’m Obsessed With!
Books:
I have gotten some excellent books to review lately! I have Glitch (debut dystopian), The Spindlers (new Lauren Oliver middlegrade) and a new VC Andrews standalone, all for review! (There are a ton of other awesome ones that I have but I am ridiculously excited for those three.) I am currently limping my way through my review pile, and there are so many fun books ahead.
AND it was announced Tuesday that there’s going to be a new Stephen King/Stewart O’Nan story out next month! Huzzah!
Movies:
I went to see The Dark Knight Rises on Friday. It was surreal watching it (I watched a lot of the coverage of the shootings before heading to the movies) and during the first shooting scene, I just kept thinking, “Is this when…?” which made it hard to focus on the movies. But the Batman movies are wonderful and I love Christopher Nolan’s movies anyway, so it would’ve taken so much to keep me away from the theater.
I have heard people say that they are afraid to go to the theater now and that makes me sad. It’s understandable but we can’t let fear win.
Apps:
I am still so in love with my iPad and I have just discovered the glory that is Flipboard. I’m sure everyone but me already uses it, but in case you are also behind the curve, Flipboard lets you have all your news and entertainment sources in one spot. I have a bunch of news, entertainment and blog sites on there, and it’s just a fast, easy way to check for updates. LOVE IT.
So what are you obsessed with this week?
I’m obsessed with wondering when I would finish this silly peri-menopause and just be done and in menopause. I am more than ready.
I’m obsessed with how freaking hot it is outside and how much the electric bill is going to be because it is so darn hot. (over $300 for June)
I’m obsessed with back to school, football season, and other things that go along with cooler weather.
I’m obsessed with the ‘free’ book downloads that are offered multiple times a day for my Kindle.
I’m obsessed with obtaining/owning/getting a signed copy of: *Special Shoes* by Molly Taylor. It released yesterday but Barnes & Noble hasn’t shipped it, yet. There is a book signing Saturday and I may just have to cancel my B&N order and buy several copies at the signing. This book is about a co-worker’s daughter.
