Things I’m Obsessed With

Welcome to the latest Things I’m Obsessed With!

TV:

Breaking Bad is back! I have missed this show so much, I can’t even tell you. I completely adored the fifth season premiere and can’t wait to see what happens next. The last shot was of Walt telling Skyler he forgave her, and honestly, it gave me chills. I never expected “I forgive you” to sound so much like, “I could kill you and bury you and no one will ever find you, EVER.” I don’t know what the fifth season has in store for the Whites or for Jesse, but if they all come through unscathed, it will be a miracle.

Movies:

Friday, I am taking a break from my reading to go see the new Batman movie with Philip. I am so ridiculously excited to see this movie and I’ve actually seen every Batman movie since the Michael Keaton one in 1989 in the theater. Very excited to keep that tradition going, and I’m sure it will be awesome. (I think The Dark Knight is the best of the ones I’ve seen, but my favorite is probably Batman. Yes, the 1989 one with Michael Keaton.) I’m also hoping to watch a Hitchcock movie over my weekend (I’m thinking Rebecca, saving North By Northwest for last). And I also want to catch Friends With Kids on OnDemand, if I can, but that may have to wait until next week. Those books won’t read themselves.

Books:

I have my reading schedule set for the rest of the year. It’s not final because I don’t know what review books (if any) will be offered to me between now and the end of the year, but it’s getting there. Book club books will need to be added, too. So far, most months are mostly review books but December has a lot of fun books. (I am hoping to have my last official 2012 book be The Chaperone; I’ve heard amazing things about it.)

Actual reading-wise, I recently read a Goosebumps book that I picked up at BEA (signed by RL Stine! 10-year-old Kelly dances whenever she thinks about it!) and it is so ridiculously fun! I have another one for review that I’m hoping to get to in mid-October and in November, he releases a book for adults. (And so does Christopher Pike!) I may have to revise the reading schedule and get those in there…

So what are you obsessed with this week?

What are the R.L. Stine and Christopher Pike books? I grew up on those and Sweet Valley books.
