Boycott was one of the AFI’s best shows for 2001. It’s a TV movie and details the people behind the Mobile bus boycotts after Rosa Park’s arrest (most notably, obviously, was Martin Luther King, Jr.).
I’m pretty sure that HBO is doing the best made-for-TV movies. This is another of their productions and it’s very impressive. It’s unreal to think that this happened as recently as the 1960s (and racism is alive and well today, much as we act like it isn’t).
This is a very interesting movie and also incredibly inspiring. I’m not sure I could be as brave as these people were, although I like to think I would have been.
