My awesome friend Jenny nominated me for a Versatile Blogger Award! (Learn more here) Jenny is one of my most favorite people and her blog posts are incredibly funny (not surprising, because so is Jenny). We absolutely need to hang out and I cannot wait until my Oscar party, because that is the next time I’ll see her.
How it works:
PART ONE: Nominate seven other bloggers (it’s supposed to be 15, but, like Jenny, I can only do seven—especially since she nominated Steve, Tom, Bekki and Janie).
1) Steph. Steph is one of my best friends and favorite people. Thank God Jenny didn’t nominate her, too. She has a book blog and a personal one. Steph is one of the sweetest, funniest people ever.
2) Michelle. Michelle has the best book recommendations EVER but she also talks about TV and movies and music. She’s going to be a mom soon but it’s going to be a boy so my suggestion of naming her firstborn Jenna Fox [her last name] will not fly. Seriously, I think she and her husband Ben are going to be the best parents.
3) John. John is one of my best friends and most favorite people. His blog is all over the map. Come for the TV talk and stay for everything else. :) John is one of the most loyal people I’ve ever met. I hope everyone has a friend like him, but you can’t have this one. :)
4) Jenn. Jenn has the coolest book blog and it covers all genres. Still, you should definitely check her out if you like mysteries; she has the best recommendations.
5) Christa. She’s smart and reads excellent books and writes great poetry. AND she’s an awesome person. AND went to Harry Potter for her honeymoon! Love her. :)
6) Kathy. Kathy‘s book blog is AWESOME. She’s got amazing taste in books and I have loved everything I’ve read on her recommendation.
7) Anthony. Anthony is my old coworker and he talks about weather and movies and his sweet dog. He’s awesome and fun and politically astute.
PART TWO: Fifteen facts about myself (supposed to be seven but, like Jenny, I transposed it).
1) Sushi is my absolute favorite food.
2) My six favorite authors (YA) are Sarah Dessen, John Green, Eileen Cook, Gae Polisner, Courtney Summers and Daisy Whitney. My six favorite adult authors are Stephen King, Jodi Picoult, Laura Lippman, Sara Paretsky, Michael Connelly and Harlan Coben.
3) My favorite book ever is The Shadow of the Wind.
4) I am totally in love with my Kindle Fire (and its counterparts, my older Kindle and Kindle app on my iPhone). I think the fact that I can now have almost any book I want in seconds is both the best and worst thing that has ever happened to me.
5) I own a ridiculous amount of movies. They’re sorted by genre. I think I have fewer than 10 documentaries. Three of them are on horror movies or horror-related topics (two on Elm Street, one on the real story behind the Amityville Horror).
6) I met Jon Stewart once. He’s very nice.
7) I LOVE making lists. My current favorite app is the checklist one.
8) The Oscars are my Super Bowl and I am so excited for my Oscars party (even though I won’t be able to see all the movies by the time the ceremony occurs).
9) I got an iPhone on Black Friday and I am completely addicted to it. I have no idea what I ever did without one. My mom and aunt got them, too. Aunt is also addicted. Mom is not.
10) 30 Rock is my favorite sitcom ever.
11) I will be 32 on my next birthday.
12) I am probably the most liberal person you will ever meet.
13) Every non-coworker friend I have in Baltimore is related (directly or indirectly) to blogging.
14) I am left handed. So is my best friend, Jen.
15) I am currently at my mom’s house, which means The Price is Right is on in the background. The only part of that show I like is Plinko. They just played Plinko.
Eek! How awesome! Thank you! Now to go work on my nomination post….
I suck! I’m just seeing this :(. I’ll go do my nomination post!
